    Description

Up for auction today is an Antique F.A. Heckel Dresden Trombone. While the Heckel name is known as a maker of fine bassoons, the name is also synonymous with some of the best brass instruments used in many of the greatest European orchestras in the late 19th and first half of the 20th centuries. The Heckel brand originated in 1831 when the company was established by the instrument maker Johann Adam Heckel. Friedrich Alwin Heckel took over the workshop from his father in 1866 and by 1889 he was promoted to the brass instrument maker for the Royal Court of Saxonia. The F.A. Heckel instruments are considered some of the finest available and are highly collectible, so don't miss your chance!
This trombone is no exception though will need to be repaired and overhauled by a professional to be back in the pristine playing condition. There are a few dings on the bell, the spit valve is missing as well as the leather strap for the rotor, and the bell, which measures 24cm has a flat spot! In addition the slide get stuck about half way and there are a couple of dents with pin size holes. Once this holy grail of trombones is brought back to life, this will make a wonderful addition to any collection as well as for a professional player!
This item is being sold as-is as pictured with a case that is in terrible condition and will need to be replaced. Please take a look at the photos carefully as they are part of the description.
