    Description

6 vintage sepia photos of the famous Saltair Resort which was located on the Great Salt Lake in Utah. This Saltair was built after the first one burned down. These photos are from a 1929 summer costume party that was hosted in the enormous dance pavilion. These six photos are extremely rare. There are many photos of the exterior of the Saltair Resort from this era but there are no photos of events from the inside the dance pavilion.
    These 6 publicity photos contain:
3 costume contest winners. The single woman is dressed as Anne of Green Gable or Pollyanna. The 2nd couple is dressed as beautiful Spanish dancers, and the 3rd couple look like Joan of Arch and a Keystone Cop. The fellow dressed up like the Keystone Cop could be a little drunk.
The 3 remaining photos are taken on the enormous Saltair dance floor with party decorations. All the balloons in the photos were handblown. You can see the bandstand in the distance. The floor is spotless, compared with the floor with the contest winners, these 3 photos of the dance floor must have been taken before the ball began.
